01 / First Steps

Install &
configure

Download OScar and open it. The Update tab downloads cagent automatically — no terminal required. Set your API key in your shell environment and create a default agent config from Settings → General.

02 / Agents

Define your
agent

Agents are defined in a YAML config file. Specify the model, system prompt, and toolsets (shell, filesystem, MCP). Point OScar at the file via Settings → General → Config file.

03 / Usage

Quick Entry &
sessions

Press ⌥⌘O to open Quick Entry from anywhere on your Mac. Sessions persist across restarts and appear in the menu bar popover. OScar sessions are indexed in Spotlight — search for them with Cmd+Space.

04 / Sandboxes

Docker sandbox
isolation

Enable Docker Desktop sandbox mode in Settings → Docker to run cagent inside an isolated container. Shell and filesystem tool calls are scoped to the sandbox — safe for destructive or experimental operations.
